Democracy for America is thrilled to announce our new 50-State Action Plan -- its the largest investment in our Field Program yet. Governor Dean's 50 State Strategy elected scores of Democrats in 2006 and 2008, and it will elect scores more of progressives this fall and beyond.
Thats why we've DOUBLED our field staff -- to be able to support YOU and your local communities fight for progressive change at every level of government across the country! Starting today, we are rolling out a series of new programs that will continue to prove to the country that each of you really do have the power to impact legislation, hold officials accountable, and make the difference in the tight races all across the country!
So here is just a sampling of the details...after you've had a chance to read the plan give us some feedback!
Dedicated Staff to Your Region
- * Each region of the country now has a dedicated National Field Organizer responsible for supporting members, groups, and Action Teams on the ground!

Action Teams/Action Team Leaders
- * Less Meeting - More Action! Action Teams will be created in communities across America, and will have the goal of seeing that Nationally- and Regionally- coordinated actions are accomplished.
- * Action Teams will consist of Action Team Leaders that apply to take on specific roles, including Volunteer Organizer, Earned Media Organizer, and Logistics Organizer.
- * Action Teams will additionally be candidate and election focused during election season by helping to organize volunteers to locally and nationally endorsed candidates in their communities.

National and Regional Monthly Actions - * DFA will be initiating one National Action every month that groups and Action Teams across the country will engage with simultaneously.
- * Examples include: Letter writing campaings, Petition gathering/delivery, Movie Nights, Volunteer Bombs, Organizing-Get-Together's, and Citizen Lobbying campaigns.
- * National Field Organizers will also initiate Regional or Localized Actions for issues that are especially pressing in your local community.

Campaign Academy and Night School - * DFA will continue to bring our acclaimed Campaign Academy Trainings to YOUR local communities throughout the year -- in fact, we'll be doing even MORE than ever before!

Regional Action Summits - * Four Regional Action Summits will occur bi-annually on the same weekend across the country.
- * All four Action Summits will be interactive and video-conferenced to link local DFA groups and Action Teams fully into our national community.
- * Action Summits will serve the purpose of bridging the gap between organizing on the local level and coordinating with regional and national partners. They will essentially be a hybrid of a weekend training and a planning conference!
- * Participants will create comprehensive Action Plans for the next six-months; the best plans coming out of each Summit will recieve a stipend from DFA National to see it implemented successfully in their communities/regions!

Candidate/Campaign Mobilization and DeanCorps Program
- * As DFA makes endorsements of candidates up and down the ballot, the DFA Field Team will be proactively engaging DFA members at the local level through our Action Teams to mobilize in support of various campaign's specific needs -- DFA will be a "boots-on-the-ground" force, winning elections from the bottom-up!
Let us know about candidates in your community that we should know about! - * DeanCorps is a fantastic new program of DFA to hire, train, and donate the best organizers in the country to endorsed campaigns that are dedicated to a strong grassroots volunteer program for the final two months of election season.
