Supporters of the U.S. Senate health care reform bill will rally at noon Thursday outside the Evansville office of Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind.
Bayh’s local district office is located in the federal building at 101 King Blvd., in Downtown Evansville.
The rally, organized by MoveOn.org Political Action and Democracy for America, will be one of several at Bayh’s district offices across the state. The others will be held in South Bend, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Hammond and Jeffersonville.
“Indiana residents will rally to ask Sen. Bayh to side with Indiana families, and not the health insurance industry, by supporting an up-or-down vote on the Senate health care bill, and by voting for the landmark legislation,” said a statement issued today by MoveOn.org Political Action and Democracy for America.
“... Participants will also thank their local (U.S. House members) for voting this weekend for the health care reform bill in the House of Representatives.”
We're counting on Senator Bayh to stand strong with his constituents to fight for meaningful reform that includes a national public health insurance option to lower costs and keep the insurance companies honest when the Senate votes on their version of the health care bill in the coming weeks.
