PI SCOOP HOWARD DEAN AND DEMOCRACY FOR AMERICA TO BOOST SIX CANDIDATES: Democracy for America, the grassroots organization founded byHoward Dean, tells PI it will endorse and direct$125,000to six political candidates. The contributions, which have been collected largely in small dollar donations from the organizations members, will go to Democratic Senate candidatesTammy Baldwin, Mazie Hirono and Elizabeth Warrenand House candidatesAnnie Kuster, Raul RuizandManan Trivedi. The candidates will join the previously announced six other candidates as part of the organizations "Dean Dozen, who will also get some ground support through Democracy for Americas regional offices. The focus on candidates in these 12 races sends a clear signal that it is time to end the extreme right-wing stronghold that has blocked the progressive agenda at every turn, Dean said.
