A message from Charles Chamberlain:
We've been busy in Wisconsin and we just finished our brand new
RECALL TV ad.
We need your help again right now to make an impact. Take a look and please
contribute $5 to keep it on the air.
Here's what's happening: For the last two weeks, over 2,600
Wisconsin DFA volunteers have been helping gather signatures to put
Recall campaigns on the ballot.
They're over halfway done.
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow called our first TV ad with the Progressive Change
Campaign Committee "the most pointed, stand-with-the-people-who-work-for-a-living
ad that we have seen for a very long time." We've saturated the
airwaves with it on broadcast and cable, morning, day and night. We've
been running radio ads, robocalls, volunteer actions.
All of it targeted at defeating the eight Republican Senators eligible
for recall in their districts.
We only need to defeat three Republicans to flip the Senate and stop
Scott Walker's attack on middle class families.
Please contribute now to keep the NEW Recall Ad on the
We're not taking any momentum for granted. We won't stop until we win
either. In fact, both Democracy for America and our partners at the
Progressive Change Campaign Committee have opened local Wisconsin recall
committees to make sure we can maximize the flexibility and
effectiveness of our campaign,
Recent polling looks very bad for Scott Walker and the Republicans, but we
can count on Karl Rove and the Koch brothers to try to change it up and
put Democrats on defense.
It's up to us not let that happen.
Thank you for taking action today.

can be viewed here: www.RecallTheRepublicans.com************** Today Democracy for America and the Progressive Change Campaign
Committee released their next TV ad in Wisconsin, Recall Momentum.
PCCC and DFA have spent over $500,000 on TV ads so far, and plan to keep
running ads for weeks. The groups have also asked local members to
volunteer on the recall, signing up thousands of shifts. The ad buy begins Tuesday, March 29 -- and first week's buy will be
over $100,000 and will run on broadcast and cable in Green Bay and
Milwaukee TV markets. The buys will be expanded based on online
fundraising. Current ads can be viewed at RecallTheRepublicans.com where
people are invited to take action locally or donate to keep the ad on
TV nationally. "The Republican cuts in Wisconsin are having devastating effects on
working families and DFA members are fighting back. DFA is on the ground
and on the air in Wisconsin with more than 2,600 volunteers recruited
for the recall campaign, more than half of the signatures gathered, and
members nationwide supporting the new TV ad released today at:
RecallTheRepublicans.com." -- Jim Dean, Chair of DFA. "This new TV ad captures the grassroots magic of the campaign to
recall Republican senators. It also shows that folks in Wisconsin of all
ages and political stripes are coming together to reject Republican
policies that give millions to big corporations in tax cuts while
forcing middle-class families, schools, and communities to pay the
price." -- Stephanie Taylor, PCCC co-founder. The ads are sponsored by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee's
"PCCC Recall Committee" and Democracy for America's "DFA Wisconsin"
committee. Both groups will e-mail their members Tuesday to fundraise
for the ad. DFA has over 1 million members nationally, and PCCC has over
700,000 members nationally -- both groups have about 25,000 members
each in Wisconsin.

A message from Jim Dean:
I bet you're wondering what the heck "fracking" is. That's a good
Hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, is a controversial
drilling technique used by the oil and gas industry that has injected
millions of tons of highly toxic chemical fluids into the ground to
break apart shale and release natural gas.
Scientists believe these chemicals are poisoning America's
That didn't stop Vice President Dick Cheney from exempting fracking from
the Safe Water Drinking Act in the 2005 Energy Bill or the natural gas
industry from unleashing a massive 34-state drilling campaign.
Now, six years later, with the facts stacking up showing the damage
being caused and the American lives being placed at risk, a few members
of Congress are standing up to close the loophole and hold the oil and
gas production industry to the same standards as any other industry to
ensure the safe protection of America's drinking water.
But they'll need our help to win. Join us in calling on Congress to pass the FRAC Act
Representatives Diana DeGette, Jared Polis, and Maurice Hinchey have
introduced the Fracturing Responsibility and Awareness of Chemicals Act
in the U.S. House while Senators Bob Casey and Chuck Schumer have
introduced the companion bill in the U.S. Senate.
In the past, the oil and gas industry has spent millions of dollars
fighting against these common-sense regulations and have succeeded in
defeating similar bills. This time, we're not going to let Congress
fight the industry alone.
That's why Democracy for America is building a coalition of grassroots
activists and environmental organizations to work together with leaders
in Congress to pass the FRAC Act this year.
We'll educate the public, expose scientific studies that reveal the real
risks, hold rallies, meetings, public forums, and organize grassroots
action until we win.
Please add your name and join the campaign to
protect America's drinking water right now.
It's been reported that since 1999 more than 90 percent of the natural
gas wells have used the fracking process. Because of the Safe Water
Drinking Act exemption, industry is not required to reveal the exact
chemicals used in fracking, but researchers in independent scientific
studies suspect 65 percent of the compounds used in fracking are
hazardous to human health.
It only takes low concentrations of benzene and diesel fuel, two
compounds found in fracking studies, to lead to severe health and
environmental consequences and illnesses traced to fracking have been
documented in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Colorado, Wyoming, and
As if that wasn't enough to demand proper regulation and environmental
oversight, a recent New York Times article revealed that the
inability to properly process wastewater from fracking, may even be
allowing radioactive materials into local rivers, streams, and drinking
The oil and gas industry is too big and too powerful for us to let
members of Congress take them on alone. It's up to us to stand with
them, fight back, and make sure they have the support they'll need to

District Overwhelmingly Chooses Bowen by 70% in DFA Member Poll Burlington, VT Democracy for America (DFA) endorses Debra Bowen today in the CA 36 after members overwhelmingly support her by 70% in online poll. DFA members statewide supported Bowen enthusiastically in her previous race for Secretary of State. DFA has more than 7000 members in the 36th district. Bowen has been an outstanding Secretary of State and she'll make an outstanding Congresswoman for California's 36th District, said DFA Chair, Jim Dean. DFA supports progressive candidates up and down the ballot from school board to president and will be proud to see Debra Bowen go from doing great work for the state of California to standing up for progressive values in the US Congress. ###

Wisconsin's Republican Senators found a way to pass Gov. Walker's
anti-worker proposal -- without a single Democratic Senator present.
There isn't a shred of doubt left if this was a budget fight or an
assault on workers. With one vote, Republicans have declared one goal:
Break unions and middle class families.
We will hold them accountable in Wisconsin. We will fight back and win.
We will be working all night to prepare new online ads and radio ads --
and in the morning, we'll buy more TV ads in the districts of Republican
senators up for recall.
Please contribute $5 to fund our campaign to fight back and stop the Republican war on working families.
This is it. Now more than ever we need to fight back and not give an inch.
As it says in our ad. "This is a battle we need to win."
Thank you for everything you do.
