Tis the season...
With the June Primaries just 2 months away and a growing agenda of issues to support, we are primed and ready to get out there and ... say it with me ... with enthusiasm ... TABLE!

On Sunday, Maddie, Bev, Terry and I set up shop at the Pasadena Rose Bowl Flea Market and offered the overheated shopping hoards information on a number of current issues that affect the residents of the San Gabriel Valley. We also gave shoppers the opportunity to register to vote.

We are working on a short term goal of informing the public about the political difficulties holding up the extension of the Gold Line out to Upland and eventually to the Ontario International Airport.
As the population density along the 210 corridor has increased, the traffic has continued to worsen. Extending the Gold Line seems like a no-brainer solution to help open up the traffic flow through the San Gabriel Valley.

With the public comment period coming to a close on April 25th, we find ourselves with a small window of opportunity to inform as many people as possible and build up the support needed to get it into the heads of those with the political power that we the people want and need this light rail extension to happen.

We also offered literature on Russ Warner's bid for the 26th Congressional seat (http://www.warnerforcongress.com/) as well as information on Props 98 and 99 (www.no98yes99.com) and California's Universal Healthcare Bill SB 840 (http://www.onecarenow.org/sb840.htm).

The Gold Line poster was an eye catcher that brought in many interested shoppers. We were also able to help out at least a dozen people with their voter registration needs. All in all, it was a eventful first outing for the season. Cheers all around.
