More Than Machinery We Need Humanity (Open Thread)

We fiscally responsible, social progressives held our first Peace Rally in the sierra foothills of Eastern Madera County last Friday evening. We normally attend rallies down in the central valley that are hosted by Peace Fresno. [The city of Fresno is about an hour drive south. The price of petrol is sky high these days so we held a rally in our own neighborhood.]

If you take into consideration the territory where we all live... I would say that our rally was received well by most of the travelers who passed us on the mountain roads.  I truly believe if our rally had taken place a few years ago we may have all been arrested or would have been given a few citations. We only had a few negative responses and there was one guy in a very BIG truck who stopped to watch our activities.  I took his picture before he left us in peace.

Unfortunately, our friends from Mariposa County were unable to attend. They were battling the fires and protecting their homes.  It was very hot that day and the air was full of smoke.
