We can't wait for ground to be given, we must take it

We are being given a narrative that we must pass this current bad bill or else lose elections in the coming years.  We are being told that the democrats lost power due to Clinton failing to pass healthcare reform.

It simply isn't true.   It was Nafta that gave our base a gut punch and welfare reform that finished it off.  Who wants to vote for someone who is working against your interest? 

Now democrats are in the majority and what have they passed?  They've given trillions to banks, insurance companies, and automakers.  This bill they call healthcare reform is another huge giveaway to the insurance companies.  What is the alternative? 

In the civil rights era, they didn't think they could vote for someone who would magically give them the same rights as white Americans.  They may have thought it at one time, but they learned soon enough that there was no one working for them, only people working to placate them and others working to keep them under the yoke.  What were their alternatives?  Worse or worst?

We've tried to raise our voices.  Healthcare is a human right we say.  However, we are directed to "Go here and voice your support" or hold these signs that say "Health Insurance Reform".  Call your congressman or senator.  We are being pacified and directed on useless projects to tire us out until we eventually give up.   

Enough is enough.  This is our country.  It isn't Aetna's or Blue Cross's.  In the battle for civil rights, they were outgunned, outmanned, and outmonied.  In this battle for basic medical care, there is only one thing we are lacking and that is money.  I am ready to have a drive in or a sit in at Blue Cross.  I am ready to go to our local news station and bang on the windows.  I am ready to march.  I am redy to be heard.  We need our people over at the windows of the Today show holding signs and shouting that Heathcare is a right and we want real reform, not this shitty subsidy for the insurance companies.  We need to scare the shit out of these millionaires that sit in Washington and come up with new ways to screw the middle class.
