2005 Organizing Kickoff
The DNC asked people to organize events in their local area as a kickoff for brainstorming for the 2006 elections. We held a meeting on November 15th, and it was a great success. Here are some of the highlights from the meeting.2006 Organizing Kickoff
November 15, 2005
Tasks that need to be accomplished:
Who are the precinct chairs?
Lists are currently in HQ
What seats are open for more precinct chairmen? Co-chairs?
What have the precinct chairs done in the past? Successes? Failures?
Organize volunteer lists, Build database
Organize workshops/trainings for precinct chairs
Look at other successful models in area (Chicago?)
Get the word out to as many people as possible
Continue to contact local officials and get them involved in party
Use DFA meetings to get manpower in HQ
Form Finance committee
House parties, funding through website
Ideas for future involvement:
Use Democratic HQ for more functions
Get more involved as democrats in service groups
Habitat for Humanity, etc.
Stay informed on listservs
Try to keep events on PBS Community Calendar
Other things to consider for the newsletters/websites:
Newsletter items highlighting Donnelly's speech at JJ Dinner
Dean's phone call highlights
