Background:

Missouri native. Lived in Washington, DC for 30 years. Worked in women's health issues. Worked in publishing/marketing/advertising for national consumer magazine. (ONMI). Returned to Missouri when husband retired from DOD. Became chair of Clay County Democratic Party for 6 years. Active in rebuilding party infrastructure. Active in community activities. Clay, Platte, Ray County Mental Health Board, Jail Expansion Committee, ALexandria Commission on the Status of Women. National Children's Hospital Committee on Sexual Abuse of Children. Goals:

I have had enough of the direction American is going. I have worked on every 6th district congressional campaign since 2000. I have been disappointed by the Democratic Party leadership nationally and within the state and felt that my experience, understanding, wisdom and energy should be applied to changing congress from within the system. Among my goals:
Push Congress to be accountable to those who elected them. Assure transparency in Congress. Ethics Reform, Campaign Finance Reform. Realistic and workable withdrawal plan for exiting Iraq's quigmire. Restore America's respected reputation in the world. Stop the erosion of the America's middle class. Equality for all Americans not just special interest segments of society.
Congressional representation which looks at improving the quality of life for all Americans.
Affordable health care for all Americans. Represent the 6th district in Washington, DC., instead of representating DC in the 6th District

Grassroots Support:

I am a populist candidate. I am very well know within the democratic base and have a strong grassroots organization available to me. I understand the developmental needs for any candidate in the 6th congressional district and will help rebuild the grassroots structure of the district.

DFA Values:

I believe in a balanced budget and we need to put a halt to the deficit spending and debt limit increases of the current administration. I believe that we can be fiscally responsible and socially responsible for providing a safety net for those who need assistance. Education funding level increases will broaden our tax base. There are many policy positions available that would improve life and circumstances in America. A change in control of Congress would allow workable ideas to reach the floor of the house.
