Terry Stulce for US Congress, Tennessee District 3

Background:

I am a licensed clinical social worker and the owner of Cleveland Family Counseling in Cleveland, TN. I have been a family counselor and mental health administrator for 32 years. I am a combat veteran of two tours in Vietnam, earning the Combat Infantryman's Badge, a Bronze Star with V Device, and a Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in Ground Combat.

Goals:

I am running for Congress to be a part of changing the course of America. Disastrous foreign policies, soaring deficits, and a misguided focus on feeding the rich and repressing the poor and middle class has America on a dangerous course. My goals are to help change the course of America, to correct the course in Iraq, to work to provide affordable health care for all Americans, and an increase in the minimum wage to move all Americans toward a "Living Wage."

Issues:

1. Correcting the course in Iraq.
2. Affordable health care for all Americans.
3. Government ethics reform, including lobbying and election reform.

Grassroots Support:

Grassroots organizing has been and will continue to be the cornerstone of my campaign strategy.

DFA Values:

A primary plank in my platform is deficit reduction, not simply a balanced budget. I support reformation of the currently dysfunctional appropriations system, especially the system of "earmarks." The Department of Defense spending must be brought under control. Progressive planks in my platform include affordable health care, increases in minimum wage to a "living wage," and environmental stewardship.
