Vin Gopal for County Chairman

Who am I?

As a small business owner, I know the difficulties the middle class faces each day. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Monmouth Chamber of Commerce and as President of the Hazlet Business Owners Association, I have fought for the interests of our small business owners and job creators. As a member of the Board of Trustees of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County, I have always shown a commitment to our community. These leadership experiences will make me a strong, decisive party chairman.

Why am I running?

Over the last eight years, I have volunteered to organize and raise money for Democratic campaigns throughout Monmouth County. We launched new Democratic clubs in Colts Neck, Neptune City, West Long Branch and many other municipalities. Alongside so many of you, I worked tirelessly to push the Democratic Party message across this county.
In my recent run for the New Jersey State Assembly, we raised over $200,000, received a key endorsement from the Asbury Park Press and came close despite the sleazy tactics of the million dollar Republican attack machine. During that campaign, I saw the importance of and the need for county-wide organizing, fundraising and bringing Democrats across this county together. As Monmouth County Chairman, that is the type of organization I will develop.

Over 100 Democratic municipal chairs, mayors and elected officials have endorsed my campaign for county chairman. They have endorsed me because they know how involved I will be in supporting the Democratic Party in future years, just as I have for my entire career. I am asking you to join them in supporting my candidacy and together we will lead this county to Democratic victories.

My Goals

With your support, I will be a chairman who works to unite this party, aggressively challenging Republicans in every municipality and raising the funds we need to get our message out. Together, we will continue to build a party which defends the middle class, stands strong for the principle of collective bargaining, supports our seniors and working families and continues to protect our air and water. Together, we will build a strong grassroots coalition to defeat Republicans at the local, county, state and national level.

About the Endorsement Process

All campaigns seeking a DFA endorsement are first required to complete the endorsement application in order to be considered. Members of the DFA Political team will review applications after submission and make endorsement decisions on a rolling basis throughout the applicable election cycle.

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our membership. We gauge DFA member support in a number of different ways. For starters, supporters can publicly show their support on any candidate’s application page. We also utilize endorsement decisions of local DFA groups as a measure of local community support. Finally, if you know a candidate deserving of a DFA endorsement who hasn’t yet applied, we want to hear about them! Please visit the Endorsement FAQ page for answers to frequently asked questions about our endorsement process.

If you still have any questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
