503m2557

Name: Ken Leach for 26th Texas Congressional District
Office: TX-26
Website: leachforcongress.com

Background:

Ken Leach was born in Minden, Louisiana, but he came to Texas just as soon as he could. He is a sixth-generation Texas.

He attended Gainesville Public Schools and received his Bachelors Degree from the University of North Texas. His is a U. S. Navy veteran with Vietnam Service.

He was In the Sales Promotion Department of American Petrofina, a civilian with the Dallas Police Department’s Planning and Development Division, and administrator with the Field Operations Division of the Fort Worth Water Department, before retiring and moving back to Gainesville.

He is a life-long Democrat and has been an active campaigner for Democratic Candidates since he was in grade school. He was a congressional aide in Congressman Frank Ikard’s Office.

Goals:

Ken Leach is running for Congress because the middle class interests of his district are not being represented.

Being assessable to the district is the main goal.

Issues:

No American should have to put off medical care because of lack of money to pay for a life-saving procedure. Each American should have universal health care.

We salute and congratulate all of our military men and women for their hard work and sacrifices; however, Iraq is the worst diplomatic failure in our history and a product of our worst presidency. Congress should not vote any more funding for Bush’s War. Our troops should be brought home at the earliest possible moment.

We must stop corporate welfare programs benefiting oil companies. We must encourage the development of non-carbon energy sources. Congress must mandate the introduction of the hydrogen car and a hydrogen supply-and-delivery system.

Grassroots Support:

Grassroots organization will be the keystone of my campaign.

The website is www.leachorcongress.com .

DFA Values:

There should be a safety net in place to prevent the majority from trambling over the rights of the individual.

All government programs should be on a pay-as-you-go basis.
