Harry Taylor for Congress NC-09

Background:

I'm a small business owner, a commercial real estate broker. I have been a long-time activist for underprivileged youth, social justice, and environmental issues. I also love music, play 3 instruments, and am immediate past-president of the Charlotte Folk Society, which preserves traditional and contemporary folk music and culture.

Goals:

I envision our country different from what we have today. To get there we need a different cast of people in leadership roles...from the White House all the way to city council chambers. We need leaders who can and will work together to solve our nation's problems: war, health care, climate change...and who will do so from a sense of fairness to all.

Issues:

Ending the Iraq War, access to healthcare & education for all, and protecting our environment / addressing climate change.

Grassroots Support:

Huge. We will mobilize the grassroots,and volunteers will drive this effort. We're going door to door, calling lots of voters,and plan to meet and listen to as many constituents as possible.

DFA Values:

I believe in a woman's right to choose, equal rights for gay individuals, and equity and justice for all regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender. I am fiscally responsible, and believe we need to pay as we go while maintaining a balanced budget.
