Lee Gaddies for State Representative, 7th District of Michigan

Background:

I am a native Detroiter, teacher, community activist and small business owner. My education at the College for Creative Studies allows me to bring creative solutions to problems.

Goals:

I feel that each of us needs to engage in the political process and that we shouldn't have a professional political class.
My goals in office are: 1. to stop insurance redlining; 2. bring a mass transit system to the state; 3. universal healthcare; 4. bring green collar jobs to energize the Michigan economy.

Grassroots Support:

I am a simple man of the people and I feel the people's voice have been muffled by corporate interests for too long, therefore my campaign will be entirely grassroots.

DFA Values:

Socially, I work across interfaith group lines. I volunteer my time on a weekly basis to feed and shelter those in need as well as reach out to others to do the same during a Sunday evening radio program. And for example, I work on the Detroit City Council Green/Build Task Force, I am the Community Ambassador to the Mayor's Office, and a M.O.S.E.S. Core Team Leader. Fiscally, I believe the government should pay as it goes, we shouldn't be in deficit spending.
