Kathy Dahlkemper for US Congress

Background:

I have a varied and well-rounded background that will serve me well in congress. I am a small business owner, former dietician, active in my community, including currently serving as Director of a successful non-profit. I am a mother of 5.

Goals:

I'm running because I am extremely concerned about the direction our country is headed. I fear we may be the first generation to leave our country worse off than we found it. I want to serve as a leader to this region and work to bring jobs and investment here. I believe we need to evaluate proposals and ideas on their merit not based on a persons political party. I want to see us insure our children immediately and work towards a comprehensive health care solution.

Issues:

Jobs and economic stability
Health care for all
Ending the war in Iraq, bringing our troops home safely and with honor.

Grassroots Support:

Grassroots organization is critical in this race. This is a large district that the incumbent has held for 7 terms and to unseat him it will take a strong grassroots effort.

DFA Values:

I believe in true equality for all. I support Gay rights, civil unions. I believe we need to create an education system that allows all children regardless of where they live to get the very best education. As a small business owner I understand the need to manage finances, control taxes, etc. I also understand the difficulties families face. We cannot continue to let our debt spiral out of control.
