Goals:
Because I believe that voting truly is the bedrock of our Democracy and that it should be transparent and accountable to ALL of the people.
My immediate goals are to
1. Address a "proprietary software" issue that may be leading to corruptable elections.
2. To address the issues of absentee ballots that have been left uncounted and ensure that every voice is heard in the process for free and fair elections!
3. To ensure there is a quality control and assurance model put in place immediately so that we are not reactive, but rather PROACTIVE.
4. To establish a citizen advisory board to advise and ensure that all communites are represented.
Issues:
1) Accountability/Transparency of our voting process.
2) Education and Outreach to our communities to increase voter turnout and restore confidence in the process.
3) Quality Assurance plans implemented to ensure free and fair elections!!
Grassroots Support:
Move-On, DFA, and many movements began with small committed and passionate people and their collective beleif that they could change the course of actions and events in this country. Indeed the impacts continue to be felt. The feet on the street from resourceful DAF'ers will win this campaign. Yes, money helps to get my name out there, but I truly believe that we can be the change we wish to see in the world.....one person at a time; and that word of mouth, a volunteer army, and email will work just as well in these trying economic times!!!
DFA Values:
My resume will show that I have been in public service all of my life, and worked toward equal justice and balance in government. I have a track record of sound fiscal, and resource conservation in every project and board decision. The evidence is in meeting minutes, and program structures still operating in North Carolina.
