Obama is proposing the New Deal again, it did not work!
FDR used excise taxes, Obama wants to use payroll and windfall taxes ( and other taxes on the "rich") but the bottom line is that massive spending will not alone solve this economic problem, we can't just throw money ( money we don't have) at the problem. It took a war to pull us out of the last great depression, God help us if we don't find a different solution.
