Alan Brock for Wakulla County Commission District 1

Background:

Born and raised in Wakulla, the son of Ed and Verna Brock, Alan has always been active in the community. In his youth, Alan's leadership was recognized and he worked as a teen consultant and spokesperson for the Executive Office of Governor Lawton Chiles. He has worked tirelessly to get young people across the state to become active in their communities through service and civic activities. While at Florida State University he was recognized as the College of Social Science’s Humanitarian of the Year for his efforts to motivate his fellow students to become more civically involved.

Alan has also actively worked in democratic politics as the North Florida outreach and youth outreach coordinator for the Florida Democratic Party for 3 years. He is still working hard to promote his North Florida Democratic views within the party, and his voice is being heard. Last year Alan’s leadership was recognized when he was elected President of the Florida Young Democrats. Through the FYD’s he is actively continuing the mission of youth empowerment that he learned while working for Governor Chiles.

Alan’s political leadership will be a great asset for Wakulla county. He already has established relationships with political and community leaders throughout the Big Bend and state. As Wakulla moves forward, it needs someone who can build partnerships and work with lawmakers in Tallahassee for the benefit of Wakulla.

As president of the Florida Young Democrats and as a community organizer I have consistently demonstrated my commitment to progressive ideals. I am committed to brining my community together and finding a way to protect our environment and encourage new business to develop. I am committed to health, education and civic involvement for young people. Wakulla County is a small rural county on the outskirts of a growing city, we need smart, innovative and open minded leadership to move us forward.
