General Election Date: 11/04/2008
Who Am I?
Currently serving as a freshman legislator in the PA General Assembly, I was appointed by the Speaker of the House to be the Majority Chairwoman of the Sub-committee on Special Education. I also serve on the following committees: Aging & Older Adults; Children & Youth; Education; Health & Human Services; Local Government.
Why Am I Running?
I am running as a citizen legislator who wants to solve problems for the people of my district and this commonwealth. I am working on solutions to provide affordable access to healthcare, the best education for our children, and a clean and healthy environment.
Hold Me Accountable!
Education, Healthcare, and the Environment.
My DFA values:
As a former 28-year business owner and a former borough councilwoman, I have a record of being fiscally responsible. And as a grandmother and former teacher, I care about human rights and equality. I was endorsed by Planned Parenthood, Sierra Club, and DFA in the 2006 election.
My Campaign is People-Powered!
Grassroots organizing is essential to my re-election. It's what put me office in 2006 by 28 votes.
Election for this campaign has passed.

BM-S is perhaps one of a handful of true progressives in the State House! PA needs Barbara to get re-elected.
