Ellen H. Brodsky, NPA for Supervisor of Elections
| Name: | Ellen H. Brodsky, NPA for Supervisor of Elections |
| Office: | Supervisor of Elections Broward County |
| Website: | runellenrun.com |
Background:
I am the Founder of the Broward Election Reform Coalition and a member of the Florida Voters Coalition. I am a member of the League of Women Voters, the Palm Beach Coalition for Election Reform, and the national VoteTrustUSA Leadership group.
Goals:
I believe that citizen ownership of our elections is essential for a transparent, participatory democracy.
I believe my experience as a long time election reform leader is a perfect fit for the position of Supervisor of Elections. I believe my experience will serve the Broward Voters best inside the system.
Issues:
Non-Partisan Supervisor of Elections representing all voters without bias.
Pro-active Leadership with citizen ownership of our elections in a transparent, participatory democracy.
Pro-active Leadership in increasing voter registration, insuring accurate voter rolls, reducing rejected Provisional Ballots & insuring Accurate Elections according to Voter Intent.
Grassroots Support:
A Big Role. I will need to mobilize all Independent Democrats, Republicans, Third Party voters and No Party Affiliation voters to give them a voice and ownership in our election system.
DFA Values:
I will initiate a Broward "Top to Bottom Review" of all Voting Technology, and initiate Best Practices in Election Administration.
I will not waste taxpayer money on unverifiable inconclusive election results. I will look for ways to get the biggest bang for the buck by including a Permanent Citizen Advisory Board & Oversight Committee on Elections to partner with me, and the county on voting system selection, technology evaluation, election administration and policy. We can save lots of money each year by programming and administering our own elections with as little vendor involvement as possible.
Now that we will be having paper ballots, we can look to ways to save money by using recycled paper and eco-friendly inks.
