This week, Blue America is hosting a contest to test the strength of nine of their endorsed candidates’ online support.

The contest works like this: the candidate with the most contributions – not total dollar amount – wins $5,000 and grassroots bragging rights, so every contribution to our campaign on the Vote for a Blue America ActBlue page counts as one vote.

Democracy for America has been amazing to our campaign to defeat Bush Rubberstamp Ileana Ros-Lehtinen in Florida’s 18th district.  My staff and interns attended the DFA-Miami training in July – and my campaign manager is even a DFA trainer, so you know that we have the best organization in the country!

You can help me win the contest and bank the winner’s prize of $5,000 by clicking here now to give $1 .

Consider forwarding this link to your friends and family as well.  They can click here and give a contribution of as little as $1 and make a big difference for us!

Please help show the world that DFA what we already know: that DFA has the strongest netroots support in the country.

Thank you again for all of your help,

Annette Taddeo

(Disclaimer: This post is from a Stender campaign press release. I do not work for Linda Stender's campaign, but I am an intern at Democracy for America.)

Miami, FL - Democratic Congressional Candidate Annette Taddeo received the coveted United Teachers of Dade (UTD) endorsement.  The UTD represents 18,000 members and are dedicated to providing a world class education to every child.

"I am honored to receive the support of the teachers because they are so important to our community.  I will be a voice for them in Congress because they are a voice everyday for our children," said Taddeo, the only Democratic challenger in the region to receive this important support from teachers.

Taddeo's opponent, Bush Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, is a teacher by profession, making the endorsement for Taddeo even more significant.  Ros-Lehtinen is out of touch with the needs of the district she began representing almost 20 years ago and was one of Bush's strongest supporters for the No Child Left Behind legislation.

"It is time for a change," Taddeo said.  "When I am in Congress, I will work every day to reform No Child Left Behind so that it is properly funded and so that the teachers in our classrooms determine the standards of accountability and are not forced by politicians in Washington to abandon their professional skills and teach to a one-size-fits-all standard."

Taddeo, a successful small businesswoman and mother with three daughters, added: "Our teachers deserve the tools they need to help prepare the minds of our children to compete in the changing world of tomorrow.  I will fight for an education system that creates opportunity for every child."
