Who am I?

I am a former small business owner. I have a number of graduate degrees, and I have taught at 4 NJ Colleges. I have been on 7 non-profit boards that have been, based on poverty, seniors, Vets, GED, and Literacy.

I worked for 30 years in Test Research and Validation for the NJ and USDOL, where I knew that tests were never to be the only indicator of ability and/or aptitude. I have worked on training for Acela, DuPont, and a multitude number of companies, and I been published on foreign policy, and worker and student programs. For the last 12 years, I was an administrator of government programs in DOL Offices, where I took care of my neighbors with jobs, heat, and a helping hand. I won 4 awards for customer service from my Chamber of Commerce..

Why am I running?

I am interested in fighting for the American Dream. I have seen neighbors and friends lose houses.. I have seen the poor wages that my county pays, and I see a rotting infrastructure. I know infrastructure means jobs. I have helped craft unions and other unions to pay decent wages and I have offered training. I am married with a wife, an inner city award winning teacher, a daughter in NY radio, and a son that is in the IBEW!

My Goals

I met all three of the Kennedys. I met Theodore Sorensen before he died, who was their speechwriter, and I have run for this office before. It is the condition of the middle class that drives me, and it is the knowledge that I with medical insurance could get a kidney, while others cannot.

My goals are to push a STEM Education and a policy that ties innovation, ideas, and work together to create jobs. I know about jobs, and I want people of all ages to have a quality one, and I want to enforce employment laws that allow constructive discharge.

My DFA Values

I believe that we have to unite people and stop a dysfunctional political system corrupt to the core that could end the American Dream. The middle class is headed to serfdom.

We need to index the minimum wage to inflation, and we need to generate jobs that pay more than $10 per hour. Fracking is a growing concern in our area, and I will be on the forefront to make sure that all water is safe and the process is safe!

My Campaign is People Powered!

My wife is a Puerto-Rican teacher in an urban school, and we will use her teachers for voter registration. I am involved with a number of organizations, including the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence with some friends and advocates to push drug reform, as we in the 24th District have a large drug problem that needs solutions besides incarceration. I am looking for seniors, and others to walk door-to-door.

About the Endorsement Process

The driving force behind all DFA endorsements is our members. We recognize that all politics is local and that what is considered progressive in Los Angeles may be very different from what's considered progressive in Louisville. For this reason, DFA does not have a litmus test of specific progressive positions for which a candidate must stand. Our endorsement is heavily weighted based on these questions:

• Will the candidate move the progressive movement forward in their community?
• Does the candidate have substantial support from our local members?
• Do the candidate's positions and policies fit into the broader progressive movement?
• Is the campaign people-powered and the candidate working to win?

If you have questions, or want to let us know about a candidate in your neighborhood, please call us at (802) 651-3200 or email us at [email protected] .
