Name: Ed Easton for Goleta
Office: City Council
Website: eastonforgoleta.com

Background:

Former Architect, Planner, University Professor and Environmental Consultant retired to Goleta in 2001. Has served on Old Town Advisory Committee, Design Review Board and currently a Planning Commissioner. Political Science and Architectural degrees from Yale. A long career as a volunteer with the Sierra Club and a professional with the National Wildlife Federation.

Founder and CEO of the Institute for Conservation Leadership.

Goals:

To restore careful slow growth to Goleta by protecting the General Plan.

To bring commonsense and a dialogue to the City Council.

To speak for Old Town and its revitalization.

To protect our neighborhoods and environment.

Issues:

Growth in Goleta threatens our city.

The current Council Majority is dominating the Council and ignoring the citizens of the City.

Developers and their contributions are calling all the votes on the Coucil.

Grassroots Support:

This will be the key to unseating an incumbent who is very popular for her services on other civic bodies.

The grassroots are ignored in Goleta especially on growth issues.

DFA Values:

I have been an active environmentalist for the past 38 years. My experience includes staffing the Model Cities Program in Charlotte, NC. as the Director of Planning and Housing Development. I know how to balance a budget and have done it for 6 years as a CEO of a 501(c)(3) organization for developing grassroots leaders which I founded.
