Wayne Marek was born and raised in Morris County, New Jersey. He grew up in Parsippany and graduated from
Parsippany Hills High School in 1993. Wayne then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree with honors (Cum Laude)
from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts in 1998. Since then he has received three Certifications

and trainings by “Democracy For America” and “The Foundation For Economic Education”.

Wayne has lived/worked/called home the following locations; the Pine Ridge Reservation of the Oglala
Lakota Nation in the state of South Dakota, San Antonio de Escazu in the country of Costa Rica, the
city of Phoenix in Arizona as well as the island of Manhattan. Wayne is the 4th generation in his family to
call Morris Plains Borough home, in the house his Grandfather (Cornelius Marek Sr.) built in the
year 1940. He currently works in the telecommunications industry here in Morris County.

Wayne Marek was the nominated Democratic Candidate for Assembly in our District 26 in 2007 and in 2008
ran for the Morris Plains Democratic Committee Chair in District 2. He was also selected in 2008, by the Morris Plains
Board of Education, to be a member of the “Morris Plains Committee on School District Consolidation” and was subsequently
selected as Chairman of the "Subcommittee on Shared Services". These committees were formed by the BOE to study, evaluate
and explore ways to consolidate our school district, share services and provide property tax relief for our residents. The
Committee's forthcoming report of recommondations and findings will be submitted upon completion in 2009.

Through the Church of the Redeemer in Morristown, Wayne is currently a member of the "Environmental Concerns
Group" and a former Captain of a "Serving Team" at the Community Soup Kitchen of Morristown. He is also a member
of the Endangered Species Coalition as well as the Wolf Education Resource Center.

Goals:

Bringing change to Trenton

No special interest money or affiliations

Beholden to only the voters/tax paying residents

Issues:

Shared Services ~ I believe that the best way to put money back in the pockets of the working people in
New Jersey is with the complete implementation, utilization and adaptation of the concept of shared services between
municipalities, school districts and counties. I am convinced that, in lieu of one-shot gimmicks, Shared Services
is not just the best course of action, but the ONLY course of action in order to put money back
in the pockets of residents and taxpayers immediately and in perpetuity.

Making Change in Trenton ~ I am a new reformer with no affiliation or ties to any special interests. We can
and must do better fiscally in Trenton. Property tax relief is a serious concern for our residents. I will work tirelessly
to promote shared services as a remarkably seamless and efficient way to provide mutual consituent needs and
reduce property taxes in our communities. Economic growth benefits everyone in New Jersey. It is not only
important to implement a business friendly environment and philosophy, but we must also entice industry to look
towards our distressed areas for potential new markets. When we revitalize these communities by
creating jobs and lowering state aid, all our citizens reap the rewards.
