Primary Election Date: 05/19/2009
General Election Date: 11/03/2009

Who Am I?

-15-year attorney
-Susquehanna Township Commissioner
-Served as Arbitrator for Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas
-'89 LaSalle University graduate
-'94 Temple University School of Law graduate ('93 Dean's List)
-LaSalle University Hall of Athletes, Inductee
-Philadelphia Big Five Hall of Fame, Inductee

Why Am I Running?

I believe I can bring A Fresh Perspective to the Magisterial District Judge's Office. A Perspective that is Smart on Crime rather than Tough on Crime or Soft on Crime. A perspective that seeks to hold people accountable for their actions but also seeks to address the root causes of disruptive and criminal behavior by partnering with local government, police and the community to formulate pro-active programs that address those causes. In addition, I believe my background, as an attorney and one who was educated by the local school system, has prepared me for office. My presence on the bench will serve as a role model to all those, especially juveniles, who find their way to my courtroom.

Hold Me Accountable!

-Smart on Crime, rather than Tough on Crime or Soft on Crime
-Improving Community Service Programs to increase accountability
-Increasing Court Efficiency and Transparency

My DFA values:

As a current Susquehanna Township Commissioner, I have advocated to revitalize neighborhood parks as a way to increase recreational opportunities for communities. In addition, I successfully lead the charge to have two dilapidated building torn down in an area park. Through public/private fund raising, I have secured free architectural services for the park's redesign. In addition, I secured a $5,000 pledge from a local developer. The redesign will be funded mostly from contributions rather than from the Township's general fund.

My Campaign is People-Powered!

Through grassroots organizing, I won the democratic nomination on May 19, 2009 by increasing democratic turnout. In 2007, democratic turnout was 1700 and in 2009 it rose to 2250. This increase in turnout was a direct result of door to door voter contact throughout the primary season. I defeated my opponents by securing 1137 democratic votes to my opponents 668 and 447 votes. I expect to continue this trend throughout the general election.

Election for this campaign has passed.
