Who Am I?

I am a primary care physician and former Lt. Commander running for Congress in the PA-06. I was born and raised in Berks County where my mother and father worked in the local apple juice factory. I joined the U.S. Navy after my undergraduate and medical studies and served as a battalion surgeon for one of the first infantry Marines to enter into Iraq in 2003. My wife Surekha and I are expecting our first child in April.

Why Am I Running?

I have spent my entire life serving my community and country and now I want to continue that in Congress. First and foremost, I am going to fight for true health care reform that includes a public option.

Hold Me Accountable!

-Continue to improve our health care needs: As a physician I have a unique perspective and I will advance the cause for creating a robust public option.

-Creating clean energy jobs: I am the only candidate in the 6th district race who has created a comprehensive plan to address this issue.

My DFA values:

As a physician, I know it is in nation's interest to include a public option in our health care policy that does not add to our deficit. As an Iraq War veteran and a retired officer in the Navy, I also know the adverse affect DADT has had on our military. Additionally, growing up the son of factory workers I understand the impact that bad fiscal policies have on working families.

My Campaign is People-Powered!

With over 940 supporters on Facebook and 1,000 contributors on ActBlue, the grassroots community is not only a part of my campaign strategy, they have built it and continue to make it grow. I have also received the endorsement of the Montgomery County DFA chapter, the Chester County Democratic Committee, the Montgomery County Democratic Committee, 6 unions and VoteVets.org.

Our campaign will win as a result of a unified grassroots effort.
