Who Am I?

Doug is a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer, which is the senior enlisted rank of E9. During the last seven years of his career, he worked on the personal staff of three Commanders, U.S. Central Command -- General Tommy Franks, USA: General John Abizaid, USA; and Admiral William Fallon, USN. With these gentlemen, Doug deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan over 30 times.

Doug was the 2008 Democratic nominee for FL-12, running against the third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House, Adam Putnam.

Despite being outspent 18-to-1, Doug's grassroots, progressive campaign earned over 137,000 votes and garnered 42.5% of the vote. This made Doug Tudor for Congress the second most successful campaign in Florida, for any challenger who didn't take the seat.

Doug has degrees in Government and the law.

Doug is married to Paula, an active-duty USAF Master Sergeant, and they have three children.

Why Am I Running?

Plain and simple, I am running to give working-class families a voice in Washington. In office, I will sponsor, cosponsor, advocate for, and vote for bills that promote economic justice, fiscal responsibility, energy independence, ecological sense, civil rights, and military restraint.

As I am a working man who cannot fund his own campaign nor contribute significant amounts of money to draw other money, grassroots is the core element of my campaign and our single-most important force multiplier.
