Who Am I?

Sandra Ruiz, a wife, mother, community activist, council-member and business partner has participated in community issues at home owner association levels, church related functions, county committees, municipal governments and in national and international affairs. She has called South Florida home for the past 21 years. Sandra Ruiz has worked in governmental, banking, healthcare, finance and legal sectors. A committed democrat with an exceptional ability to negotiate amongst all parties with effective outcomes. Sandra Ruiz holds true to American principles however retains the compassion, the responsibility and the heritage of always assisting her fellow man. She is truly a great American that acknowledges her blessings in this country. At a very early age, she demonstrated that we are are all of the same sector with very similar stories. The American dream is hers and it should be yours as well.

Why Am I Running?

I am committed to serving my friends, family and constituents. We are all descendants of immigrants somewhere in our history. We owe it to ourselves, our predecessors, and our children to continuing the fundamental threads our founding fathers laid out. Those of equality, liberty the pursuit of happiness; all unalienable rights. This is my goal. To provide leadership and guidance towards that end.

Hold Me Accountable!

The economy/jobs. Education. Waste. All three of these issues are of a much larger scale than can be fully managed at local and state levels. Nevertheless, stirring the heart of our legislature to lead by example with innovative ideas can and will have positively have the impact needed at a larger scale. I intend to improve education policies, to eliminate wasteful spending and to strengthen the coiffures of our state through controls in taxing and spending.

My DFA values:

I am the product of a grassroot movement. I'm there at the kitchen tables brainstorming on how we can organize and move our vision forward. I proved this when first taking receipt of our association from the developer; when I ran for community council in order to make a difference in future developments; when I worked on incorporating our city in order to provide better education, parks, safety, etc.; and we effectively ran and won two council elections (only woman and only democratic) serving my community. This was all done with the help and trust of community volunteers, neighbors and friends who believe that we can make a difference. This is what I intent to do in District 112.

My Campaign is People-Powered!

I am a people person. Given the opportunity to advance my aspirations, I believe it is most effectively done face to face. When not possible, I will direct our staff to assist me through phone calls and one on one emails and communications. I have organized a staff of volunteers that are carefully crafting our campaign strategy. Our walking door to door has begun. We will begin to grow via our volunteer coordinator as we advance to our goal of taking District 112 blue to Tallahassee.
