Who Am I?

I have been a resident of south east Houston since 1955 and have lived in Clear Lake City for 25 years. The majority of my adulthood was spent as a professional pilot, with six years of commuter airline experience and the remainder in management positions in the operation of high performance multi-engine executive aircraft. Currently, I hold an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, with Lear Jet and Falcon 10 type ratings.

Beginning in 1998, I stopped flying to pursue my entrepreneurial desires to build a small business in the growing educational technology industry. The business experienced excellent growth, resulting in an award as the #23 fastest growing businesses in Houston for 2001 and the #54 for 2002. However, the decline of the economy of 2008, all but put the company out of business. The result was my taking early retirement and placing the business in the hands of my 27 year old daughter.

Why Am I Running?

I have been married twice in my life and fathered four children, one of which I lost to AIDS at the age of 30. My children blessed me with ten grandchildren and have provided me with a very full life. It is for the welfare of my children, grandchildren and all of those who are suffering in this time of economic uncertainty that I made the decision to nominate myself as a candidate for the United States House of Representatives, in the newly created Texas 36th Congressional District.

During the next few months, leading to the election on November 6, 2012, I will be building a network of county chairs and those who work below them, labor unions, Hispanic organizations, environmental groups and charitable services to create a strong base of public awareness of who Max Martin is. I intend to document my work in print and picture and use my internet skills to put my message in front of as many in my district as I can. The platform I profess is right and just and will certainly win out over those who would like to destroy 235 years of our governments existence.
