Who Am I?

I have 20 years of public service. I have served as Councilwoman and then Mayor of Fanwood, then as Union County Freeholder, and I am currently in my third term as Assemblywoman representing the 22nd Legislative District. I am married with three grown children. I have my B.A. from The American University.

Why Am I Running?

I am running for Congress now for the same reason I ran for Council then - I see things are going in the wrong direction and I want to make a change. It's time to restore the right priorities to Congress and finally put a stop to the misguided policies of the Bush Administration. My goals in office are to stop the abuse of power and rampant corruption in Congress, change the way we fight the war on terrorism to focus our resources on the real threats to our national security, make health care more accessible to millions of families, reform education to prepare our children to face the challenges of the future, and change our energy policies to guarantee affordable, reliable energy for America.

I am unequivocally pro-choice, and have been endorsed by NARAL in my most recent campaign for Assembly. I support gun control, and was recently given an F rating by the National Rifle Association. I have been endorsed by Garden State Equality for my support of LGBTI issues.

Grassroots organizing will enable us to build the volunteer base we need for direct voter contact. Our volunteers will knock doors and make phone calls to identify and persuade likely voters.
