Background:

US Navy Veteran, former CEO (1993-2006) of one of the largest independent Apple Computer dealers in the nation, former church leader. Member of the "Band of Brothers 2006" veterans running for office. Missouri resident for 23 years. Married 16 years to Mara. Two daughters, Taylor (7) and Jordan (3).

Goals:

After volunteering in 2004 as a "Veteran for Kerry" (I was a stump speaker for the campaign in central Missouri), I began to be troubled by a conversation I imagined having with my two daughters in about 10 years time. Asking me about the war, the debt, the Patriot Act, and other issues, and hearing my answers, they would say, "gee Dad, what were you doing?" And as much as I love my business and my life, I suddenly felt as though I was hiding. My goals in office are to return fiscal sanity to our budget and our tax code, to get politics out of science, to improve the tenor and tone of political debate in Washington, to provide better legislative oversight of the Executive Branch, to aggressively move our energy poolicy away from dependence on foreign oil and to REALLY "support our troops" in deeds as well as words.

Grassroots Support:

Whatever role it can. My years in business have made me *very* pragmatic ... and I am *deeply* disturbed by my perception of how dysfunctional our party's political apparatus is. I need two things; money and votes. I can't win if I can't get a message out, and I can't communicate without money. If I can get that money with a smalll number of large donations or a large number of small ones, it doesn't reallly matter (whichever option is easiest) ... but the clock is ticking (dates on the calendar are CLOSER than they apppear).

DFA Values:

I strongly support the Roe decision, not for any reason for or against abortion, but because of the Court's interpretation of the due process clause, and the incredible danger to all of us in reversing that decision. I believe that we can grow our economy
