Background:

Lt. Col, USAF, ret.; 101 combat missions in Vietnam; PhD in Aeronautics & Nuclear Engineering, Caltech; Directed all "Star Wars" programs under Ford & Carter; Executive in government and industry; Lectured at National Defense Univ, Congressional Caucuses, UN, House of Lords, hundreds of ROTC units, colleges, Rotary Clubs, World Affairs Councils, Council on Foreign Relations, churches of many faiths, peace groups, Academies of Science of six nations; chaired 8 international conferences; married to wife Maggie for 50 years; 7 children & 21 grandchildren; called by Los Angeles Times "best public speaker in the country."

Goals:

Take Back America from the professional politicians by electing a Citizens' Congress to serve the needs of the people, rather than the greed of the multinational corporations and lobbyists. Run on the truth for a change, and restore openness and honesty in government. Promote fiscal responsibility by restoring progressive income tax, removing earnings cap subject to FICA, and making transnationals pay their fair share. Stop paying for corporate wars to protect financial interests of global robber barons.

Issues:

(1) Stop exporting jobs and provide good jobs at a living wage for all Americans. (2) kick insurance companies out of health care, and implement a doctor-run single-payer National Health system. (3) Support what's left of our troops in Iraq by bringing them home while they're still alive.

Grassroots Support:

There are currently hundreds of volunteers gathering petitions to get me on the ballot. We have the support of Democratic Women's Clubs, peace groups, the Progressive Alliance, NOW, Equality, Patriots for Peace, Veterans for a United America, and Veterans for Peace. We are reaching out to labor unions. Since we don't have big money, grassroots organizing is central to our campaign.

DFA Values:

I'm fiercely protective of human rights, including the rights of women, children, racial and sexual minorities, and workers. I believe government should impose morality on the boardroom and the war room, not the bedroom. Fiscal responsibility requires that Congress refuse to fund wars to protect the financial interests of oil companies and other global robber barons. If we bring home our troops stationed around the world and use them to protect our people and our borders, we could reduce DoD expenditures by more than 50% and improve our National Security at the same time. Fiscal responsibility also requires that we drastically modify or discard NAFTA, CAFTA, and the WTO, reduce our out of control trade deficit, and stop selling off pieces of America.
