Warner for Congress
| Name: | Warner for Congress |
| Office: | CA-26 |
| Website: | warnerforcongress.com |
Background:
I am a husband, father and small businessman. I've lived in the 26th district for over 27 years with my wife of 35 years, Kris, and our three sons. Twins Adam and Matt work in the family business. Greg, the eldest, served in Iraq for seventeen months and is home safe and a student at West Point.
After graduating from high school, I took a position at U.S. News & World Report, where I learned the magazine distribution trade. After several years, I was laid off with three children at home under the age of three.
My wife and I decided to invest our savings and start our own company, Warner International Periodical Services. Now the company is one of the top niche magazine distribution companies in the country, supporting many other small businesses in the process.
Goals:
I'm running for Congress in the 26th district against David Dreier because I don't like the direction our country is headed. My son Greg served in Iraq for 17 months, and when he returned he asked me to make a difference. That's when I made the decision to run for Congress. We need to end the war in Iraq, provide health care to children and families who can't afford it and make education a priority in this country.
Issues:
1. Ending the War in Iraq:
I opposed the war in Iraq from day one because I knew it was the wrong war. I will fight to end the war in Iraq and strengthen America's image abroad. I believe in supporting the troops by bringing them home now, while making sure they receive the medical care and veterans benefits they were promised.
2. Providing affordable health care for all:
Skyrocketing health care costs are keeping families from receiving the care they need, even preventive care that will keep medical costs down in the long run. And too many Californians - currently over 6 million - are without any health insurance. I will stand up to the big insurance and drug companies to help make affordable and quality health care available to everyone.
3. Creating energy independence:
With rising gas and energy prices, it's time for America to declare our energy independence from big oil companies and foreign countries. I support a new energy policy that invests in alternative energy like wind and solar power, which will save taxpayers money, clean up our air, fight climate change and create new local jobs. I will also fight to protect our natural resources like the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains in my district.
