DFA Training in Las Vegas

You made the phone calls, you knocked on the doors and this past November you began to take our country back from the right wing. While many people are thinking about taking a rest after our victories in 2006, we know that you aren't. Neither are President Bush and his right wing allies. That's why, we are proud to announce that the DFA Training Academy is coming to Las Vegas, Nevada on February 10-11 .

The 2008 Presidential race is already beginning to take shape. You and I both know that the grassroots can be more than just a passive audience for these candidates. The DFA Training Academy will prepare you to become an asset to whichever candidate you end up supporting.

But this is more than just a presidential race. This past November Democrats across the country were successful in races from the U.S. Senate to local city councils. In addition to the standard campaign curriculum, we also will focus on strategies geared toward retaining the seats won last year and building Democratic majorities in 2008 and beyond.

At the DFA Training Academy, experienced campaign professionals will cover practical strategies and tactics in everything from communications, fundraising and voter targeting to online organizing and building sustainable grassroots movements. We build the program so you can go out and actually use the skills you learn right away. Then, we follow up with you to make sure you have the support you need to organize your community.

In addition, there will be a Saturday Night Social which will be optional. The Gin Mill at 2561 Windmill Pkwy is just minutes from SEIU and the Marriott where many are staying. They will be expecting us around 6:30 and will keep an area for us in the bar. There will be tickets for one free drink and they will have some complimentary vegetable trays, chips and salsa out for us. They have a nice variety of meals and prices on their menu for you to stay and have dinner as well.

The event will be a great place to meet and socialize with our fellow activists, but the daytime agenda is quite full. So local activists have organized a social option for attendees. Leave a little time on Saturday evening, post-training, to network and socialize if you like.
