Join the fun in Big Bear for a lovely afternoon in the mountains in support of Pat Meagher, our future Congressman for the 41st Congressional District. This is a wonderful family event. Bring your friends and family for this opportunity to shake hands and hear Pat Meagher speak to your issues. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the beauty of spring in the mountains. We will have dessert and drinks.

From: Highland - Take Hwy 330 towards Running Springs/Big Bear. Hwy 330 turns into Hwy 18 as soon as you pass under the bridge in Running Springs. Continue past Arrowbear and Snow Valley Ski Resort. You will soon reach the summit and start descending into the Big Bear Valley. Once you come to the Big Bear Lake Dam, turn right and cross over the bridge to the South Shore. You will pass Boulder Bay. The road will veer to the left as you go downhill past Alpine Slide area. Once you get to the Chevron gas station, turn left at the light (Paine Rd.). This will take you through the business route on Hwy 18. The road curves - stay to the right. This becomes Hwy 18/Big Bear Blvd. You will continue east going through town. You will pass the Stater Brothers market on the right. Continue east, passing the Arco gas station at Stanfield Cutoff. Go past Division (Motel 6 at the corner). You are now entering Big Bear City. Continue east. Once you pass Greenway (Valero gas station), you are approximately (1) mile from your turnoff. You'll see a sign on the right that says, "Sugarloaf". Turn right on Maple Lane. You will be going uphill. Turn left at the first stop sign you come to (Baldwin Lane). There is a fire station on the left at this intersection. Once you turn left, the park is on the left side. Our picnic shelter is located at the east end of the parking lot.
From Redlands -
Take (10) Fwy to Orange Ave/Hwy 38 exit. Go north. Turn right on Lugonia Ave / Hwy 38. (This road will take you all the way to Big Bear). Continue east past the McDonald's on the right side (Wabash Ave.) .Lugonia turns into Mentone Blvd / Hwy 38. Road veers to the left at Amethyst Rd. Mentone Blvd will now turn into Mill Creek Rd. Continue east. You will stay on this road until you come to the Forest Falls exit. Stay to the left. You will now start climbing a steep incline to approx 5,000 ft elevation. You will pass a small community called Angelus Oaks. Be sure to stay within the 35 MPH speed limit through town......
As soon as you pass the 8,000 ft elevation marker, you will come to Onyx Summit, which is at 8,443 ft elevation. You will now descend into the Big Bear Valley. Continue on Hwy 38 past Mitchell Lane / State Lane turnoff. As soon as you pass Erwin Ranch Rd on the right side, be prepared to turn left onto Baldwin Lane. Sugarloaf Park is about 1/2 mile on the right side. Our picnic shelter is at the east end of the parking lot.
From: Lucerne Valley -
Take Hwy (18) towards Big Bear. Once you reach the summit, you will be in Big Bear Valley. Hwy (18) will go around Baldwin Lake on the North Shore. The road will straighten out and you will see a church on the left side. Turn left onto Paradise Way. Paradise Way will dead end at Big Bear Blvd. Turn left. Go about a 1/4 mile and you'll see a sign on the right that says, "Sugarloaf". Turn right on Maple Lane. You will be going uphill. Turn left at the first stop sign (Baldwin Lane). There is a fire station at the corner. Sugarloaf Park is on the left side. Our picnic shelter is located at the east end of the parking lot.
