Agenda:
When it costs a staggering $200,000* to run a winning campaign for the Illinois state legislature, how can citizen candidates compete? And how can our legislators stay independent while continually raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions?
Nine other states currently have some form of voluntary public financing of campaigns. Could that be a solution for Illinois? Find out at this forum featuring guest speakers:
- Tuesday, May 27, 7:00 p.m.
- at Sulzer Library
- 4455 N Lincoln Avenue, Chicago
- Free and open to the public
We will also hear from representatives of the Illinois Ballot Integrity Project who are doing a referendum on "Clean Elections" public financing of campaigns.
