Agenda:

The goal it to get city / neighborhood residents and members of various groups eating together, relaxing together, and talking to each other, in a low-key way, in search of all the common ground we share.

Ideally, it will give people energy for the months to come, and it will also help us be better informed, so that when we follow our goals, we do not carelessly / needlessly trample on each other's needs, rights and goals. (This isn't meant to gloss over real disagreements. There will always be some of those. It's meant to remind us how much MORE we share!) Think of it as a "unity event" on a grand scale.

During the afternoon, we will collect feedback for convention delegates, who will also be invited. People are encouraged to bring kids, musical instruments, foam frisbees / foam balls for fun.

DFP (the Pittsburgh DFA meetup group) is sponsoring the event. Because we do not collect or disburse funds in support of candidates, nor are we a 501(c)3, when we put on an event, ANYONE can come: campaigns, non-profits, community groups. And PEOPLE--neighbors, friends, anyone who wants to come.

DFP is small. (We have ~25 or so members who come to meetups semi-regularly, though there's a latent base of several hundred members with a web connection to DFA and DFP.) So this event is planned to be modular and simple.

We're asking all the non-profits to plan to set up IN THE FIELD, away from any candidate campaigns. We're asking the more political groups to stay in the parking lot, so they do not compromise the 501(c)3's.

If groups or individuals have a canopy (one of those open-sided picnic tents) please bring it! For groups: please bring at most one table & at most one lit piece and a sign-up sheet for people more information. That way we can all crowd under if there is a cloudburst.

Each group will sign up to bring a food item. Additional pot-luck items are always welcome, but you do not have to bring food to eat food.

There are a few "no"s, based on our permit.
No one can sell anything at the event.
No one can sell or give away alcohol, and we ask that no one bring it for their own consumption. If anyone is clearly innebriated, we'll help them leave the area.
We don't have a permit to hold a softball or baseball game. We can play on the field in other ways.
This is billed as a "tailgate"--if you want to grill, that's AOK, but you have to bring your own grill and use it in the parking lot.
No amplified music / stages / speeches.
