You Believe What?

Yes, this is what I believe, and please let me tell you about it.

This I Believe is the theme of our next meeting… The members speak! You get to speak! Is it a take off of the NPR series of the same name? Yes, but it is more. It’s a take off of a series of radio essays fostered by Edward R. Murrow in the 1950’s. Eleanor Roosevelt, cab drivers, Helen Keller, Harry Truman, scientists and secretaries, all voiced their ideas, their ideals, the principles by which they lived. They offered a piece of themselves for us to hear and to understand them more fully.

The goal of our next meeting? We want to hear from you! Tell us in 2 or 3 minutes something that makes you smile, or something that helped make you who you are! Maybe an idea you have or a story that has guided or altered your life. Offer us a piece of you so we might hear and understand you more fully.

If you choose not to present, just come to listen, to learn. Expand your understanding of life through the words of others. Maybe you can benefit from the experiences of someone else.
