Everyone is welcome to join us at 6:00 p.m. for dinner (buffet - $15 donation) and socializing. The meeting itself starts at 7:00 p.m. We meet the first Monday of every month.

2010: CHANGE OR MORE OF THE SAME?
Guest Speaker: Andy Shaw

Andy Shaw is Executive Director of the Better Government Association, in addition he is an award-winning Chicago journalist who spent 35 years covering politics, business, education and day-to-day news at the City News Bureau, Chicago Sun-Times, NBC 5 and ABC 7. He retired as ABC 7's political reporter in January, 2009 after covering the Obama inauguration.

Andy will be talking about the 2010 elections and current reform efforts including those of the Better Government Association.

We will also be hearing about the Illinois Fair Map Amendment, which is a ballot initiative that wants to gather 500,000 signatures by April 1. You can learn more here:

And we will have updates on our endorsed and adopted candidates.

The mission of our group is to elect socially progressive, fiscally responsible, ethically committed candidates to all levels of government. We need your help make this happen. There are ways for everyone and anyone to help out, so come to a meeting and find out more.
