Everyone is welcome to join us at 6:00 p.m. for dinner (buffet - $15 donation) and socializing. The meeting itself starts at 7:00 p.m. We meet the first Monday of every month.

At the August meeting we will be featuring four 46th Ward Aldermanic candidates: James Cappleman, Michael Carroll, Don Nowotny and Molly Phelan. The 46th Ward is in the Updtown area; in 2007 the current 46th Ward Alderman, Helen Shiller, received 53.1% of the vote and James Cappleman received 46.9%.

This will be one of the most hotly contested races on the north side so don't miss this meeting!

At the August meeting we will also be electing a new chair for Northside DFA. At the last meeting I announced my plans to step down as chair and we called for nominations from among our voting members. One member -- Ed Mullen -- was nominated. On Monday we will vote either yes no or abstain. If Ed receives over 50% of the "yes" vote he will become the new chair. If you are a voting member who can't attend the meeting please remember that you can vote ahead of time by sending an email to northsidedfa@gmail.com.
