About This Event:
As early as this week, the Supreme Court is expected to make a ruling on two marriage equality cases. Most experts believe that the court will leave it up to the states and right now, Illinois still has a long way to go.
Even though the people of Illinois overwhelmingly support marriage equality our representatives managed to kick the can down the road. Now we have to figure out what we are going to do about it. If you think equality can't wait, join our local efforts.
Sign up here to attend Northside DFA's monthly meeting today and join the movement to help pass marriage equality.
When? Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Formal meeting starts at 7 PM and the social hour starts at 6 PM
Where? Lincoln Restaurant, 4008 N. Lincoln, Chicago (free parking behind the Lincoln on the north side if Irving Park Road, just west of Damen; also the Irving Park Brown Line is two blocks east of the Lincoln)
There will be a number of speakers who will take us through the ups and downs of this past session. Then we will discuss what we can do locally and statewide to make sure that popular progressive legislation doesn't get stuck on the shelf next time around.
Northside DFA needs your input. Meet with them today at 7 PM and be a part of the next big wave of Illinois electoral activism.
