A Massive Six County Hudson Valley Voter Rally/Concert/Party

Saturday October 18th  4pm - 4am

On October 18th the Columbia County Democratic Committee is sponsoring Blue Tsunami a massive voter rally in Hudson NY.  The event is intended to appeal to all ages and will spread over 12 hours. Blue Tsunami will take place at Basilica Industria an incredible former Iron Factory near the Waterfront in Hudson NY.  There will be candidates and elected officials in the early part of the day followed by a concert and it will culminate in a dance party. All tickets grant everyone all-day access with in and out privileges.

6 Counties - One Mission

Joining the Columbia County Committee as co-sponsors are the Democratic Committees of the five surrounding Hudson Valley counties, Albany, Dutchess, Greene, Rensselaer & Ulster. This will be a first for this area. 

Democrats ready to take power and lead

These areas of the Hudson Valley, long considered Republican strongholds are now on the verge of becoming solidly Democratic.  Blue Tsunami will work toward better coordinating our efforts and to raise funds for the crucial local elections next year. With Barack Obama’s surge in the polls, people are excited and this event seeks to channel that energy. It will also be a great thing for our new voters and young people to show up and see a diverse group of people from all parts of the Hudson Valley, advocating for their candidates and having a good time doing it.

The Program

4pm-7pm The Voter Rally - The voter rally is aimed at energizing voters to get to the polls in November and to make the most informed decisions when they do. The candidate portion of the day will feature information and speeches from the Democrats running for office this year. It will be an excellent opportunity to meet and hear what the candidates have to say. There will also be elected officials participating in the event with speeches, information and the opportunity to speak one on one. We also have a very special guest planned and will be making an announcement shortly.

7pm-11pm There will be live music by a wide variety of bands. The headliners are The Little Dead. The bands members include Laura Dawn, Daron Murphy and Aaron Brooks and it's most famous member Moby. Other bands on the bill are Hudson's own Mother Fletcher, The Lost Crusaders and Big Sky Ensemble.

11pm - 4am The event will close with an all-night dance party with DJs to be announced.
