The Democrats are in a lot of trouble.   You can win if you beat up on a woman especially a woman with an infant child.  The young men of the Democratic Party had better start taking the lead of our nominee and learning to respect the women in their lives.

But it's ok for a WOMAN to attack another woman.  and we've got the best in our corner with Hillary.  i don't think Palin is a good choice at all given her corruption history.

Usually, vice prsidential candidates are vetted for distasteful activity.  It sounds like she was appointed because she is a scumbag.

We have to be cautious how we attack her.  We can always kep the investigation and abuse of power in the forefront.  Her desire to drill in Alaska will keep Dems united. 

Her only job is to get the Hillary vote.  I can't believe  women are that dumb to vote to go back to coat hanger abortions.

I was flabbergasted to hear this, much as I was disconcerted when there was a rumor not that long ago that Obama would pick Sibelius.

I think that the best thing that the Democrats can do is ignore her. The media will discuss things plenty, and people will draw the correct conclusions.

Voters who were solid for McCain will remain solid for McCain.

Voters who were undecided on the basis of "commander in chief qualifications" will wonder about Palin's qualifications and McCain's judgment.

Progressive voters leaning toward Obama will not be swayed by an antienvironment antichoice candidate, female or male.

It occurs to me that Palin is right in the Bush mold; it wouldn't have surprised me to have had her as a Supreme Court nominee.

With Bush agreeing with Obama on an Iraq timetable, the war Issue is muted. The issues of veteran's care, Afgan, Iran, etc are still there and demand both a tough and statesmanlike approach.

but Palin is a good choice. We are witnessing history in the making. An African-American candidate for president and a woman for vice president is something my generation (baby boomer) could only dream about.

when she said, "I put country before Party" so I stand corrected. We are witnessing history in the making when the first woman will be elected vice president. By the way, I'm a Hillary supporter just like Ferraro is.

I'm not sure what to think of this.  When I walked out to get my mail, my neighbor lady was there getting hers (she is elderly), she asked me what I thought about Palin, I told her I did not believe she is ready to be Pres.  My neighbor said she is very upset, that McCain should have chosen Romney (not a surprise, practically everyone in UT wanted Romney), the neighbor stated she believed that because Palin has 5 children, especially one with Down Syndrome, that Palin should be at home with her children.  She said she has always liked Joe Biden, will be voting for Obama because of Joe. Mormons do believe a woman's place is in the home.

Now I know UT will not go for Obama, but could this lady's thinking have any affect say in NV, NM, or CO where there are a good number of Mormon voters?  Plus the face Romney was overlooked.

Just read Palin's speech. She stated McCain is exactly what this country needs. Enough said.

(CNN) -- John McCain needs what Kinky Friedman calls "a checkup from the neck up."

In choosing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate he is not thinking "outside the box," as some have said. More like out of his mind.

Palin a first-term governor of a state with more reindeer than people, will have to put on a few pounds just to be a lightweight. Her personal story is impressive: former fisherman, mother of five. But that hardly qualifies her to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

For a man who is 72 years old and has had four bouts with cancer to have chosen someone so completely unqualified to become president is shockingly irresponsible. Suddenly, McCain's age and health become central issues in the campaign, as does his judgment.

Obama has no foreign policy experience and both he and Biden have no military experience. So what make Obama more qualified to be president than Gov. Palin to be vice president?

I wouldn't say she's "corrupt". What she's being investigated for is actually an interesting look into the window of her little mind.

Her ex-bro-in-law was a scumbag at home, may have been slapping her sister around, etc. He had a nice government job, maybe with her help, back in the day. Now the couple's getting divorced and Madame Governor wants to put the hurts on him by taking away his posh job. She asks his boss to fire him. The boss correctly replies that the man did nothing he could be fired for. Just because he was a louse at home didn't make him a louse at work.

So, petulantly, she fires the boss instead, for insubordination.

That's not corruption, that's the childlike action of a person without the requisite maturity to be the leader of the free world. She and Exploding John should be a heck of a duo.

I would assume she could deliver Alaska as well as an energized evangelical base. McCain has the War Party behind him and every billionaire he delivered tens of millions in tax cuts to finance any 527 they want. Big oil can lower gas prices for a few months and make us forget the rape at the pump. This ain't over til it's over.

They now cancel out the "historical" dimension, change the subject, even our conversation at the watercooler.

I'm taking no vote for granted and will increase my effort.

when it comes to the issue of wife beating. Democrats will need more than that to win over undecided voters. In fact, women might like the idea of "of with his head" sounds good to me.
