Steans, Elder and Spyropoulos at Dec. NDFA Meeting

At our December 6th Northside DFA Meeting we will have three guest speakers -- our two candidates for the 7th District State Senate seat (currently held by Carol Ronen), Heather Steans and Suzanne Elder, and Mariyana Spyropoulos, candidate for Metropolitan Water Reclamation District.

We will also have updates on our adopted candidates Mark Pera and Daniel Biss, our endorsed candidates Dan Seals and Carol Javens, and information on upcoming events, including our NDFA Holiday Party on December 8th, the Daniel Biss fundraiser on December 12th, and our NDFA Iraq War Forum on December 13 (scroll down for a full list of upcoming events).

We also have the possibility of doing several endorsement votes at the December 6th meeting. Our last month's speaker, Michele Smith, candidate for 43rd Ward Democratic Committeeman will be eligible for either endorsement or adoption. We also can choose to do endorsement votes that night for Steans or Elder and/or Spyropoulos. While our by-laws specify that adoption votes occur the month after candidates speak, in special cases we have voted to endorse candidates the same night as their presentation due to pressing circumstances, and the group may choose to do so at this meeting.

If you are an NDFA voting member, please try to attend this meeting! If you cannot attend the meeting you can vote prior to the meeting via proxy (which can be submitted to any steering committee member). We will also keep any endorsement votes for that night's speakers open for one week after the meeting so those voting members unable to attend can still vote. I will send out a write-up of the candidate's presentations as soon as possible after the meeting to help with that decision, and we will be making audio tapes of the candidate's presentations which -- technology permitting -- will be downloadable from our website for anyone who was not present.
