Description:
A group dedicated to bringing together the spirited progressives that are spread out in the mountains and foothills of Western North Carolina. Our goal is to follow in the footsteps of Howard Dean, and his mission to Take Back America, by taking back one of the most conservative districts in North Carolina.
It's time to start working together as a united force, if united we can never be stopped.
This comes after the amazing efforts of the Appalachian State University College Democrats who broke the crust of apathy and overcame the alienations that were the defining characteristics of American college life.
It is in tribute to their spirit that those of us in this district, of all ages, must take this opportunity for political involvement and turn this district upside down.
We will fight in many ways, using words as weapons and minds in place of money.
If we can defeat selfish special interest in Boone, we can defeat hardline conservatives in Yadkinville, North Wilkesboro, West Jefferson, Sparta and Mount Airy.
We are men and women who have suffered and endured much. Through Republican rule we have been kept poor and banished from our God given right to have a say so in the policies that affect us. That will change.
If we are to survive in these mountains we must take this opportunity to oust toadies like Virginia Foxx, and put in place real leaders so that our farmers, teachers, students, elderly, children, and soldiers are looked out for.
