Friday fun.. Pick Obama's Cabinet

Written by: Tim Watson on Nov 14, 2008 11:22 AM EST

Here is something a little different for this dreary Friday. (at least here in Vermont) President-elect Obama has some tough choices for his cabinet positions and it seems everyone has an opinion or their favorite.

DFA wants to know, who is your favorite and who will Obama pick?

Anyone who correctly picks all four Obama's nominations for Defense Secretary, Secretary of State, Attorney General and the Environmental Protection Agency will be entered into a drawing for a Democracy for America "You Have The Power" t-shirt. We will be giving away 10 t-shirts in all. We will make another blog post early next week showing the current top choices of everyone who submitted an entry.

Take a moment and let us know who you think deserves to serve along side President-elect Obama.

- if I win

By Jo*in*Vermont on Nov 15, 2008 5:16 AM EST

please give my tee shirt to LindaB - SHE has the power and has proven it this cycle!

my picks:

Defense Secretary, Sam Nunn

Secretary of State, Bill Richardson

Attorney General, John 'go get 'em' Conyers

Environmental Protection Agency, Robert F Kennedy Jr

as for a dreary Friday (at least here in Vermont)?  it was really quite lovely here for mid-November, so perhaps it's the environment within headquarters which was dreary.

- No to Hillary as SOS

By dog soldier on Nov 15, 2008 8:30 AM EST

The buzz coming out of DC is BO asking HC to be SOS.

HC as f'ud up many foreign policy votes.  She voted for the War and voted against banning cluster bombs.

Maybe BO wants to get the Clintons out of his legislative hair as HC will help screw up healthcare.  Bubba is doing good work with his foundation so Hillary can join him in the foreign policy world.

Another point; Dems are increasing their Senate numbers.  If Dems want to cast out Lieberman, they can't remove Senate seats for cabinet posts unless they are sure a Dem will be appointed in their place.

My personal choice is John Kerry.  There is no one more suited to push for solutions using statesmanship versus force.

BTW...Both New York and Massachusets have Dem governors so in this regard, both Hillary and Kerry are safe.

- This has *always* been the part of winning I hate ~~

Victory, spoils.  Ack. I'd hoped in my lifetime to see it come to an end.  Guess not.  I *will* say that Obama himself doesn't seem to be treating it that way: mine, mine, goody goody.  But rather as a choice to get done what needs to be done in the best way. . . .

- Time to call in John Edwards!!!

By David Reed on Nov 16, 2008 3:51 PM EST

Remember how when John Edwards dropped out of the Democratic Primary as a candidate for President; Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton stated they would make sure that they took care of his concerns for the poor and homeless, the rigged judiciary and the censored press as soon as one of them took office!  Click here to see why you can't make it (pay special attention to the first and last five messages): http://messages.yahoo.com/Cultures_%26_Community/Crime/threadview?m=tm&bn=18077660%23policebashing&tid=2149&mid=2149&tof=1&frt=2  There's the poof that John Edwards has it right!!  It's time for the promise to him to be kept so that any of us will have a chance!!!
