The Louisiana Movement strives for a more inclusive, empowered, and progressive Louisiana. To this end, we facilitate opportunities for progressives to build relationships, learn from one another, and organize for action.
Our Core Values are:
- Socio-political Inclusion of all Citizens - we reject manipulation based on the classic divide and conquer strategies that have pitted citizens against each other by class, race, gender, age, disability and countless other labels.
- Civic Empowerment - we believe we will never achieve inclusiveness without recognizing and building the power within each of us as individuals and as a collective.
- Progressive Government - we embrace the following basic tenets of the progressive movement:
* Anti-corruption
* Pro-inclusion of citizens directly into the political process
* and government ability to act on behalf of the citizens it serves by enabling fairness in economic and social matters when other methods of empowerment (or lack thereof) have proven ineffective or corrupt.
