Democratic Election Judges Needed for Suburban Cook County
Linked to groups: Hanover Township Democrats & Independents (HanDI)
In suburban Cook County, five (5) election judges are assigned to each precinct.
Two (2) are Democratic and two (2) are Republican and the 5th judge is determined on which was the majority during the primary. So due to the great Democratic turn-out in the February Primary Election additional Democratic judges are NEEDED.
The 12,500 election judges in 2,500 suburban Cook County precincts make sure that polling place operations run smoothly and that elections are carried out fairly, honestly and accurately.
Serving as a gatekeeper of democracy, you are responsible for supervising the conduct inside the polling places and helping voters.
Election judges can receive up to $170 every election. This includes working Election Day, your election judge training and assisting with the set up before Election Day.
For further details, see Cook County Clerk's website @ http://voterinfonet.com/sub/election_judges.asp
High school seniors or juniors in good standing can participate in the Student Judge program. They may apply to serve even though they are NOT old enough to vote.
As part of a team of judges, the student is responsible for helping voters and supervising polling place activity. Student election judges can earn up to $170 every election.
Qualifications for a student judge are listed @ http://voterinfonet.com/sub/first_judge.asp
