Regarding opening environmentally protected areas for mining and pumping oil:

There is over 200 years of oil in the 48 contiguous States that are capped up by oil companies to monopolize world energy. There is no need to violate our environmentally protected areas, just to allow oil companies to further monopolize their strangle hold over our lives.

They are creating a media frenzy just to increase the price of oil; very successfully I might add. However, there is no immediate threat for an oil shortage !!! The oil companies have ONLY created the perception that there is a shortage !!!!

I personally believe that ALL mineral rights belong to the American People, NOT souless corporations!!!

I applaud Venezuela for nationalizing the oil assets in their country!!!!

We should be doing the same thing here in the United States !!!!

Sorry to be away so long, but it could not be helped.

It's a great day for DFA. Our group made a real difference in the American political landscape with the election of Ned Lamont.

Now we have in our hands the chance to make a difference in Manatee County.
Not something earth shaking,but a great change nonetheless.
Unfortunately, the Republicans are not going to let us win.
So we have to fight, work and sacrifice our free time,our comfort,maybe even cash to get a small victory in this Republican dominated town.

What's the worst thing about Manatee --- the schools.
Before Sept.5 we can work to get our 3 candidates elected
and thereby take over the Manatee School Board for the first time in at least 15 years if not thirty.

We will be calling Thurs.and Fri.8/10&11,as well as next week.

We just have five days to go to get petitions to defeat a Republican County Commissioner who's never had to face a Democrat for election. He's raised our gas tax locally five cents (on April 10 when gas prices were at the highest) and voted to effectively shut down the live music scene in Manatee County by banning 18-to-20-year-olds. His closest ally is Sheriff Charlie Wells, one of the "Good Ol' Boys" that have overseen a vast development boom and a growing wave of crime. Both the incumbent, a former Southwest Fla. supervisor of the Fla. Highway Patrol, and Wells retired from the FHP. Together they have presided over the gradual destruction of the county's historic communities, beauty and charm. Our candidates are going to self-destruct unless we get help in PETITION-SIGNING!!!
This is why the DCCC wants candidates w/Money; so they can pay the fee insteadthe petitions.
Do we just want people with money running the country??
Do you want someone to pay the fee and never meet him?

We have received support from the ManateeDEC(Bless them).
They have provided some space in their Booth 138 at the Red Barn.
We need people to man it and people to open their homes for Coffees, cocktails what hav you, wher the neighborhoods can meet these people.
We have just endorsed Rod Smith for Governor, hopefully we can get a Blockbuster event together for a fund raiser.
