I was just seeing if anyone was interested in getting involved in some of the local campaigns.  All four Floyd County state house seats are being contested with a rematch between Bob Puckett and Katie Dempsey being a possible pick up opportunity.

I will be out of town next week so will miss the meeting Tuesday night. It seems that we should do something to participate in the campaign and election. If anyone has any ideas post them and someone can provide a program.

September Meeting

Remember the meeting Tuesday, Sept 12 at Barnes and Noble at 7:00 pm in the dining area. Victoria will be there with the latest updartes on the local candidates. We need to select which we will support in the November election. We have some Democrats we should support and some that don't deserve our support. Then there are the Republicans. Everyone come and be prepared to discuss your candidate of choice. Just two more months until the election, maybe the most critical election in many years. If we don't get some people in congress to oppose Bush this time there is no limit to the damage he may do in the next two years.

September DFA Meeting

DFA meeting this month is Tuesday September 13, 2006 at 7:00 pm at Barnes and Noble. We need to reactivate our group and make a plan for the November election. Everybody come and bring a friend if you can. If you have a favorite candidate you want to support we can discuss all the candidates and choose which ones we will actively support. We have a chance to make some gains in the number of progressive candidates elected this year and we should not miss the opportunity. Let's get this group going and try to have some influence on the election.

Election Night Party update!!

Hello everyone, my supporters and those watchful eyes.

Let me make a clear statement here, when I announced an election night party; it did not say Victory Party for Victoria Brooks. It is just that an Election night party at the headquarters.

Dr. John Lancaster offered to host, along with a couple of other staffers of my campaign as we were told everyone else would be out of town.

Yet we wanted everyone who has worked so hard for the Democratic Party as a whole on all campaigns and those that are running unopposed to have a night of fun together.

There will be an Election night party at the headquarters starting at 8pm.

I will be at my home for most of the evening as was planned from the beginning with my family.

I have asked Dr. John Lancaster and the other staffers that volunteered to help him to not serve as a host for this Election party as it seems to have caused a conflict.

For those of you who have been invited to my home for an early party, I look forward to seeing you all here.

I do hope all will have a great time no matter where you celebrate the Democratic Victory for the state of Georgia.

Telephone banking for Victoria Brooks Campaign

Phone banking location has been changed to the new Democratic Party Headquarters on Broad Street about a block south of Turner McCall. Signs are up so it will be easy to find. We plan to be calling all faithful Democrats Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6 to 9 pm. We need all the help we can get. We may work Friday also if necessary to get all the calls done.
